How to Differentiate Instruction Reconcilable Differences?
Link: http://www.ascd.org/cms/objectlib/ascdframeset/index.cfm?publication=http://www.ascd.org/publications/ed_lead/200009/tomlinson.html
The article discusses differentiation as a philosophy and set of beliefs that acknowledges that students of the same age differ in their readiness to learn, their styles of learning, their experiences and their life circumstances. Differentiation is wary of approaches to teaching and learning that standardize. The author believes that standard-issue students are rare, and educational approaches that ignore academic diversity in favor of standardization are likely to be counterproductive in reaching the full range of learners.
